Summer is definitely getting to an end, and with it, shorter, colder days are about to arrive. A
quite uncertain fall awaits us this year, and we know that the feelings it provokes can
sometimes be hard to manage. This is why today we bring you some reminders of everything
you can do to see the joy of life in those moments when everything seems to be a little bit
- Watch a comedy
It is clear that we are not discovering anything new here, but we really want to remind you
about the power of a comedy. Narrative films in general have the ability of getting us out of
our thoughts to take us to a new more appealing universe, which is already great for us to
stop thinking about our not so great reality. Furthermore, if this new universe is filled with
light, tenderness, humour and happy endings, as comedies usually do, then they will
absolutely get us to feel better.
There are very few feelings that are better than going to sleep with a smile in your face and a
renewed faith in humanity, and sometimes only happy ending movies can get it!
- Cook your specialty dish
Many people claim that cooking is a really good way to relax and distract your mind, and we
agree, but with a specification: cooking something that you know it’s going to be amazing.
If you are feeling a little bit down and you want to cook something, maybe it is not going to
be the right time to try out something new, especially if this something is more complicated
than what you usually do. You may feel like you need something different in order to really
escape out of your thoughts loop, but, what if the end is a mess? It might upset you, and we
definitely do not want that.
Instead, you can try to add something new to that dish that has become your go-to in this kind
of situation. If you love baking cookies, try baking pumpkin cookies for Halloween. You
already know the basics, so the epic failure chances are almost non-existent!
- Read inspiring stories
As we were saying in the first section, happy endings give us faith and hope and in general
put us in a better mood. By watching or reading about how successful people made it, how
people got out of their problems, or how someone got to make their dream work may really
fill you up with energy and excitement.
For example, a great way to get inspired is by looking at the “Homecoming” Beyonce’s
performance on Netflix. It is fore one of the most iconic performances Coachella has ever
hosted and you will be amazed by all the hard work that it took, plus you’ll see everything
Queen B had to go through in order to make the concert of her life to work.
Another suggestion, the Instagram account @thewaywemet. Each post shares a real love
story, from the very beginning of it and until the current situation, and we can assure you will
really get to smile with it. You’re welcome!
Of course, getting out of the house and looking at books, clothes, home deco or whatever it is
that you like shopping, has always and will always be therapeutic. Picturing the scene where
you will wear those shoes, imagining what that book is going to deal with or thinking where
you are going to place that new flowerpot does absolutely entertain you and stimulate nice
and exciting thoughts.
Going shopping with someone else can be cool as well, but the perks of going alone are that
you will be able to get into whatever shop you like and spend as much time as you like in
there, and there’s nothing like that feeling!
- Food shopping!
Going grocery shopping might not be your idea of a cool, relaxing plan, but as we all know,
eating is a pleasure, and looking at the tasty things you might not usually look at and getting
to eat them is for sure exciting as well. Get into the ice cream section and get that new flavour
that sounds amazing. Eat the whole pint in a day! You’ll enjoy it like no other. Or get those
new spicy chips and eat them all over. No one will be there and see how red you become with
Groceries are full of possibilities!
